ABOUT STUDENTS FOR FREE CULTURE
Students for Free Culture, Inc. is international chapter-based not-for-profit organization founded in 2003 with over 40 chapters on campuses around the world. The group was founded in 2003 by two Swarthmore students after they successfully sued voting-machine manufacturer Diebold for abusing copyright law. Consisting of a diverse set of students and young people, Students for Free Culture promotes the ability to share, access, and rework culture and knowledge within an environment of technological and legal freedom that supports it. Our members work locally and globally through targeted campaigns, public education, and policy advocacy.
